Cholesterol is an organic lipoprotein or lipid molecule which is biosynthesized by all animal cells. Cholesterol and triglycerides are important fats (lipids) in the blood. It is an essential component of cell membranes, brain, nerve cells, and bile, which helps the body to absorb fats and fat-soluble Vitamins. The body uses Cholesterol to make Vitamin D and various hormones, such as Estrogen, Testosterone and Cortisol**.
There are different types of Lipoproteins circulating in the body Very Low-Density Lipoproteins (VLDL), Low-Density Lipoproteins (LDL) and High-Density Lipoproteins (HDL).
Why Life On Cardio-Life?
Life On Cardio-Life is made using traditional supplement Red yeast rice which is a product of rice fermented with Monascus purpureus yeast, which helps in lowering blood Cholesterol levels. Red yeast rice looks appealing because of it cultured naturally. It contains most importantly Monacolin K called as Lovastatin and Sterols, Isoflavones, Fatty Acids. Lovastatin helps to lower "Bad" Cholesterol and fats (such as LDL, Triglycerides) and raise "Good" Cholesterol (HDL) in the blood. It belongs to a group of drugs known as "Statins". It works by reducing the amount of Cholesterol made by the liver decreasing the risk of heart disease and helps prevent heart strokes and blood vessel blockage**.
Lovastatin interferes with its production of building blocks for Cholesterol Biosynthesis by acting as a reversible competitive inhibitor for HMG-CoA which binds to the HMG-CoA reductase. The inhibition is due to the structural homology between the β-hydroxy acid form of the statins and the HMG-CoA intermediate formed. Lovastatin, being a mixture of the Lactone and the β-hydroxy acid form. The lactone ring is converted into the corresponding β-hydroxy acid form. Lovastatin, being inactive in the native form which it is administered, is hydrolyzed to the β-hydroxy acid form in the body which is active**.
Statins are used in the treatment Hypercholesterolaemia because of their safety efficacy they can exert Antiatherosclerotic effects independently of their Hypolipidemic action. Lovastatin improves endothelial function, modulates inflammatory responses, maintain plaque stability and prevent thrombus formation, these effects sorts artery related diseases could be cured**.
